Counseling Services

I primarily provide individual counseling sessions and one or two groups per week as there is interest and need.  However, addiction can also be a family disease that impacts everyone so if a couples or family session is appropriate, let's talk.  We can help the family regulate to prevent triggers and enjoy life more, together.  If you need an assessment done by a licensed addiction counselor, I can provide that as well.
Counseling helps people to reclaim their lives from past hurts; to find direction and a life worth living.

Workshops & Consultations

Many people have many questions about drug addiction and recovery.  If you would like an educational workshop or presentation for your organization (school, church, business, outreach, etc.) I am happy to help. If you have a program or client you would like assistance or input with, I have experience in Clinical Supervision and program development particularly on implementing Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Informed Care and Ethics & Boundaries.

Through my work at one residential program, we were able to improve client satisfaction to one of the top three state-funded programs in Massachusetts in 2015-16 as verified by an independent third party satisfaction survey.  We also increased average length of stay from less than 90 days to approximately 120.

Intensives

Sometimes, we have been going to therapy for a while and still feel a bit stuck. We have learned a lot, but we have difficulty interrupting our behavior in the moment. Relapse can feel like an unwelcome guest in our lives. We are motivated, we know the cycles, and yet they continue to repeat.

To help with exactly that, I now offer intensive sessions. These are longer, focused sessions designed to explore how those cycles actually operate. Together, we map out how the cycle begins, the shifts that precede relapse, what the behavior helps us regulate or avoid, and how our relationships and lifestyle may unknowingly reinforce it.

Intensives are a focused, exploratory, collaborative deep dive into what is happening and why it continues to happen. The goal is not simply insight, but a clearer understanding of how the cycle works in real time and where meaningful opportunities for change may exist.

At the end of the intensive, we make sense of what we have found together and discuss options for follow-up care. Intensive sessions can be used alongside ongoing therapy—you do not need to change therapists or discontinue work that is already helping you.
