Counseling Services

I primarily provide individual counseling sessions and one or two groups per week as there is interest and need.  However, addiction can also be a family disease that impacts everyone so if a couples or family session is appropriate, let's talk.  We can help the family regulate to prevent triggers and enjoy life more, together.  If you need an assessment done by a licensed addiction counselor, I can provide that as well.

I also provide counseling for people recovering from or struggling with trauma, stress or chronic stress.  Counseling helps people to reclaim their lives from past hurts; to find direction and a life worth living.

Workshops & Consultations

Many people have many questions about drug addiction and recovery.  If you would like an educational workshop or presentation for your organization (school, church, business, outreach, etc.) I am happy to help. If you have a program or client you would like assistance or input with, I have experience in Clinical Supervision and program development particularly on implementing Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Informed Care and Ethics & Boundaries.

Through my work at one residential program, we were able to improve client satisfaction to one of the top three state-funded programs in Massachusetts in 2015-16 as verified by an independent third party satisfaction survey.  We also increased average length of stay from less than 90 days to approximately 120.

For Out of Network Reimbursement

If you need help with out-of-network reimbursement, I am happy to provide you with a receipt.
To verify your mental health benefits:
  1. Call your insurance provider’s customer service line.  Check your insurance card: it may list a separate number for behavioral health or mental health services.
  2. When you dial this number, be sure to inquire about “behavioral health” or “mental health” benefits, which may be different than your medical benefits.
  3. Inform the person verifying your benefits that you are only inquiring about office visit benefits (not inpatient or outpatient).
  4. You may want to ask about the following:
    1. Do I have a deductible?
    2. What is the deductible year?  Does it start in January?
    3. What is my copay?  How many visits am I allowed per year?
    4. Do I need a pre-authorization?  If so, how do I get it?
    5. What diagnosis qualify for reimbursement?
    6. What type of licenses are accepted? (Licensed Alcohol and Drug Addiction Counselor / LADC 1)
  5. Always keep a record of who you spoke with, the day and time you called.  If possible, get a reference number for the call just in case.
